Julie Plockot: 5th Grade Reading & Writing Lab

Whoooo   "The stories we love best live in us forever" ~ J.K. Rowling

Welcome to 5th Grade Language Arts and Social Studies!

Welcome to the Adventure! My name is Mrs. Julie Plockot, and I am the ELA/Social Studies teacher for 5th grade. I am thrilled to share my love of books and reading with you this year. I am looking forward to a great year of reading, writing, spelling, Social Studies, and more, but first let me tell you a little bit about me.
I was born on Hahn AFB in Germany, and moved to Oklahoma when I was 2. I grew up in a suburb of Oklahoma City, and attended the University of Central Oklahoma. After graduating with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, I moved to Texas to teach. I have taught grades 1-5. This will be my 10th year of teaching at Treetops, and my 14th year overall.
I live in Euless with my husband Scot, my daughter Alissa, one dog, and three guinea pigs. We are big OU football fans, and also cheer for the OKC Thunder, Dallas Mavericks, and Trinity Trojans. I love reading and crafting. I'm a huge Fangirl of Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Despereaux, The Hunger Games, and more.
Some of my favorites:
Color: purple
Season: fall
Restaurant: Applebees
Drink: Diet Dr. Pepper, Carmel Macchiato
